Day Lily, Night Swim artist-dyed fabrics, pieced and stretched on a wooden frame Augusts piece uses two images. On the left is a loose visual interpretation of a day lily. A few years ago, we planted several lilies around the yard, and this year they really came into their own. From June through August, we had an ever-changing display of flowers in varying colors and sizes, at different heights and positions around the house. The right-hand side of the piece shows the way the water in Lake Champlain felt on my naked body, when I had a glorious swim under the stars after a very hot and sweaty day. |
